Tá athbhreithniú dhá dhéanamh ar sheirbhís na gcúirteanna ar fud na tíre le tamall anuas agus mar chuid de sin tá stádas cúirteanna Inis Mór, An Spidéal agus Doire Né i mbaol. Ach, tuigtear do Sheanadóir Shinn Féin go bhfuil scéala tugtha don fhoireann go bhfuil an oifig riarachán i nDoire Né le dúnadh ag deireadh mí Aibreán.
Tá scríofa ag an Seanadóir chuig Bainisteoir Reigiunach Sheirbhís na gCúirteanna san Iarthar leis an scéal a shoiléiriú.
‘Buille tubaisteach a bheadh i ndúnadh na hoifige seo’, a deir an Seanadóir, ‘agus bheadh amhras orm cé chomh fada is a leanfaí leis na cúirteanna féin i gConamara & Arainn má théann sé seo chun cinn. Buille eile ag an Rialtas seo in aghaidh bunsheirbhísí a bheith le fáil i gceantar tuaithe atá anseo agus is cém ar gcúl mór atá ann’, a deir Seanadóir Ghaillimh Thiar.
‘Tá sé i gceist agam an scéala seo a tharraingt anuas sa Seanad an tseachtain seo chomh maith’, a deir Trevor Ó Clochartaigh.

Derrynea Courthouse Office to close
Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh has expressed concerns that the administrative office at Derrynea Courthouse in Connemara is to close.
There has been a ongoing review by the Courts Services on courthouses throughout the country over the last number of months and as part of that the court services in Inis Mór, Spiddal and Derrynea are in jeopardy. But the Sinn Féin Senator now understands that the staff of Derrynea have been informed that the administrative office there is to close at the end of April.
He has written to the Regional Manager of the Courts Services to clarify the situation and that of the other courts services in Connemara and Aran.
‘The closure of this office would be a fatal blow’, according to the Senator, ‘and I would be concerned as to how long it would be before the Court sittings in Inis Mór, Spiddal and Derrynea themselves would be phased out if this goes ahead. This is another attack by the Government on services in rural areas and it is a very retrograde step’, according to the Galway West Senator.
‘I intend raising this issue in the Seanad this week also’, says Trevor Ó Clochartaigh.
